Backpack choices

For my group we went to the musem and learned about volcanos and more we learned about the different types of rock the volcanic eruptions can make. First we lern about pamice and pamice it a soft type of volcanic rock that is formed in sea and is helpful to scrub off the dead skin cells on the bottom of your foot. Basalt is A dark-colored, fine-grained rock common on ocean floors and in volcanic regions and has holes on it because is is formed by forthy lava. Obsidian A dark, glassy rock formed from rapidly cooled lava, known for its sharp edges. Volcanic Bombs are formed by spiralling in the air to make a cool  looking shape like a twisted shape. Next we had our backpack choices for if a real volcanic eurtption happen. For my Backpack choices choose the gloves for protection and the goggles for my eyes so I could see if there was ash. Next I choose a Book for entertainment, and a Tea – towel so I could wrap it aourd my face so I could beath if there was ash. Next I put in a toy for my little brother and then i put in a coluring book in so I would not get bored and that’s it.

Volcano poem

  • conquain poem. A cinquain poem has 5 lines. Each line has a different purpose. Line 1 is a noun which is a name. Line 2 has 2 adjectives taht describe the noun. Line 3 has 3 verbs that end in ‘ing’ and describe the actions. Line 4 is a noun phrase which is a group of words (not a sentence) that go together to describe the noun. Line 5 is a synonym which is a word with a similar meaning to the noun.
  • We used our poem to show our understanding of volcanoes.
  • Something I found interesting about this was was the collaboration.

How volcanoes erupt

This week we learned how a volcanos eurpts and what it does. When the magma chamber makes pressure it makes ash clouds and boiling hot lava to come out. when tectonic plates crash together is makes the magma chamber pressure. And when the lava hardens and it solidifies into a hard type of rock.

A moment in Time

LI: To write a poem that describes a moment in time

At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers. Nio, CJ and I have described what it was like to take part in the pancake race.We chose this challenge because it was really fun playing charades.
